Саша Филипенко – писатель в эмиграции. Его тексты честные и часто неудобные. Но он продолжает писать, потому что убежден: даже в самых абсурдных обстоятельствах у человека остается выбор. Иногда очень маленький, но решающий.
На встрече поговорим о том, зачем сегодня писать и читать, как меняется язык под давлением и что происходит с текстом, когда его пытаются заставить замолчать.
Вы сможете задать вопросы автору и получить его автограф. Привезем вышедший этой весной роман «Возвращение в острог» на беларусском языке. И, конечно, будет запрещенный в Беларуси «Слон».

We invite you to an open conversation about the role of literature here and now, at a time when reality increasingly resembles a dystopia.
Sasha Filipenko is a writer living in exile. His texts are honest and often uncomfortable. Yet he continues to write because he believes that even in the most absurd circumstances, a person still has a choice. Sometimes a very small one, but a decisive one.
During the meeting, we will talk about why it still matters to write and read today, how language changes under pressure, and what happens to a text when someone tries to silence it.
You will have the opportunity to ask the author questions and get an autograph.
We will bring the Belarusian-language edition of the novel “Return to the Ostrog,” published this spring. And, of course, the book “Elephant,” banned in Belarus, will also be available.
